Iris Slock (1962) Venlo

Painting and jewelry. And more and more spatial images

Themes:
Love, dreams, people and / or animals.

Characteristics:
Poetry, fantasy and dreaming away from reality.

My method is varied. Sometimes I work from the feeling and fantasy that create dreamy paintings; the other time rationally, searching for the right composition, color and content, to create a play of planes and lines.

I get inspiration from my many sketches that I make. Multiple sketches can be used at the start of a painting. During the painting I often have world music on. I love African dance and art, warm earth colors, positivity, enjoying life.
In my paintings I want to place something that, if you look at it, can give you a good feeling. A bit of Iris.

I paint with acrylic paint and use many materials such as gel medium, gesso, sand, chalk, charcoal, coffee etc. My works get many layers. Usually with a structure. In the 80s and 90s my colors were fairly primary and directly on the canvas. In recent years I have been working in layers and my colors are not nearly as bright anymore.

In addition to my own work, I also work on assignment.
My motto is: Together we'll work it out!

Art gallery Irok in Horst and gallery Hans Persoon in Eersel have permanent work by me. My work can also be rented and sold at the art library of the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht. Visiting my house is also possible, but make an appointment in advance.

* I am looking for new exhibition options
